Welcome to Central High International School

The fundamentals of a good education do not change. Of course some components should and do. At Central High International School, we remain committed to encouraging our pupils to do and give their best; to discover what it is they are good at and not so good at and to learn how to value the contributions of others whilst allowing their own to be appropriately valued too.

Admission Policy BE PART OF OUR SCHOOL

We would like to do everything possible to support your family as you explore the possibility of joining our CHIS community. It is important for families applying to CHIS to remember that our enrollment is limited and therefore applications should ideally be submitted between the 2nd week of May and last week of June each year. While we will accept applications throughout the school year, an early application in May/June will increase the chances of being able to accommodate your child. Our admissions office recognizes that applying to a new school can be a daunting process, and we understand your family’s needs.

"For the five years that I attended Central High School, it served as a kind of haven for me. My teachers worked relentlessly around the clock to make sure my understanding of the different concepts I was taught was sound. I was provided with textbooks and additional resources like past papers, not forgetting the availability of my teachers any time I needed them, so when the time for the examinations arrived, I was more than ready to face them. Central High School set me down this path, and led me all the way to where I am now"
"I'm glad to say that Central High helped me grow a tremendous deal, the years of adolescence are such a formative time and to have been surrounded by teachers who encourage one to achieve your goals is such a blessing. It's vital in that time of your life to have a conducive environment to grow in and I'm glad to have had that. Now that I'm in college and discovering a new landscape, I understand how important my highschool period was and I'm extremely grateful to Central High because of the years I spent there growing. There was no mold which I was meant to adhere to and I was given the opportunities to grow into a young woman confident in her choices, some people may not understand the weight and importance of a secondary school which can give you freedom of expression but in my case I was very lucky to have exactly that."
"My name is Angel Hu and i joined Central High school in the year 2012. The five years i spent studying at Central high school could be said to be extraordinary yet exciting. Knowledge rained down on us everyday at school and i could always be sure to learn something new and interesting everyday. As the years passed i realised that i was grateful for the responsibilities Central high school presented to me while i took part in the student commitee as firstly a prefect, then a house captain and finally in my last year the head girl. These positions prepared me to become more considerate and caring for others and also helped me find out which areas were my strengths and what were my weaknesses. During my last year at Central High school, i took 3 subjects: Biology, English and ICT. English and ICT ended up contributing alot when i began University at The Polytechnic. The classes i took at Central High school fully prepared me to face Journalism with ease. Some of the material taught in University were already taught to me in my A2 classes and that gave me a boost towards getting good grades at the end of my first semester. Now im fully settled in University, yet on some days i do go back to Central High school, rewalk the corridors and revisit the classrooms that contains so much happy memories of my years there, with friends, with teachers and with the school itself."
"My name is Adham Beshir, I am a medical student in my foundation year and was proudly a student of Central High School for about 4 years. When I initially joined in 2014 I was welcomed warmly by both the student body and my teachers. It was the start of an unforgettable high school experience with memories that I shall cherish always. I would have never been able to succeed and gain acceptance into the Malawi College of Medicine had I not had the support and motivation from the teachers and staff at CHS, they shaped me into who I am today and for that I am grateful. Central High School will always have a special place in my heart."
