We would like to do everything possible to support your family as you explore the possibility of joining our CHIS community. It is important for families applying to CHIS to remember that our enrollment is limited and therefore applications should ideally be submitted between the 2nd week of May and last week of June each year.

While we will accept applications throughout the school year, an early application in May/June will increase the chances of being able to accommodate your child. Our admissions office recognizes that applying to a new school can be a daunting process, and we understand your family’s needs.

STEP 1 - Assessment

Applicants are scheduled for an assessment, when there is a possibility of a vacancy and provided the application is complete. The assessment process is designed to ensure that the placement of all children will best meet their educational and personal requirements. The assessment is also designed to help ascertain whether a child would require any specific academic support. Please note that the assessment material is private and a property of the School. Parents are not entitled to view or obtain copies prior to or after the child’s assessment.

Assessed applications will be reviewed taking into consideration various factors, including the results of the assessment, previous school reports, subject options at IGCSE/A Levels (Form 5 and above), English language ability, child’s conduct report and availability of seats. The school reserves the right to assign priorities for admission or refuse admission for any reason we deem fit. Where places are insufficient, applicants remain on the waiting list.

If the application is successful, an offer of place will be made. An offer of admission to the school is also based on the belief that a child will benefit from the curriculum offered and that his/her admission will support the education of existing students. It is possible a child is accepted on specific conditions.

Placement of the child is at the absolute discretion of the school, taking into consideration various factors, including the child’s academic ability, level of achievement relative to the school’s current students and child’s conduct report.
